Well child

NOW WHAT?

Being a new parent is difficult, below are resources that can answer some common questions that we receive from new parents.

Typically you should schedule a newborn checkup within the first week. After that well child checks occur at 2, 4 ,6, 12, 15, and 18 months. During these visits the doctor will monitor the progress of your child and address any concerns related to growth and development. Your child will also recieve the corresponding vaccines down below. If you have any specific concerns you wish to address it might be helpful to write them down before the visit to ensure nothing is missed.

Vaccine schedule

2 months old

DTaP-IPV-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Polio, Haemophilus Influenzae type B (Hib)
Pneu-C-13: Pneumococcal
Rota: Rotavirus

4 months old

DTaP-IPV-Hib: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Polio, Haemophilus Influenzae type B (Hib)

6 months old

HPV: Human Papillomavirus
Men-C-ACYW-135: Meningococcal Disease

Grade 9-11 (14-16 years old)

Tdap: Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Fever?

A normal temperature is around 37 C or 98 F taken by mouth.

A fever is typically 37.5 C or 99.5 F and up.
